You will find everything you need to make a comfortable home for these pretend creatures inside the box. The house is built with four rooms for living, eating or sleeping. A fifth divider can be placed in the home to make a fifth room for a growing Calico Critters family. The home is two levels and there is a staircase that allows creatures to move freely between letters. The staircase can be moved to any location you prefer.  

Although the home seems to be enclosed and complete, it can be opened so that you can access the inside. Therefore, you’ll be able to decorate the Calico Critters' home as much as you like. 

The Calico Critters Townhouse does not come with furniture; that is sold separately. You can purchase kitchen, living room and bedroom sets, or you could make your own for a personal touch. Multiple sets are available for each room. The home includes light fixtures throughout the townhome, but batteries are needed to run these. Batteries are not included inside the original package, so you will need to purchase two AA batteries. 

The Calico Critters Townhouse is 12 x 12 x 12 inches which means it is the perfect size to sit on a table in a bedroom or playroom. Because the townhouse opens and closes, it can easily be stored when it’s not in use. You can even store the animals and pieces neatly inside neatly when the house is closed.  

Assembly is required for this product, but the pieces are easy enough for older children to assemble without the help of parents. If children wish to move the room divider or stairs, it’s also easy enough for a child to complete the task.
